STEP 1: Application Process and Deadlines
Penn State operates on modified rolling admissions, which means there is no deadline for applying. However, the evaluation of transfer applications does lengthen the review period, so transfer students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
Transfer Admission to Penn State Schuylkill
Admission to Schuylkill is possible after applicants have completed 18 semester hours of credit. Most programs require a minimum grade point average of 2.0, although certain programs have higher GPA requirements and may also require the completion of prerequisite courses.
Transfer Admission to Penn State University Park
For admission to the University Park campus, applicants must have completed two years of college level work and have strong academic records. Certain programs have more stringent grade point average requirements and may also require the completion of prerequisite courses. Some programs may not be available to transfer students.
