Are you an Adult Student?

 If you meet one or more of the following criteria you are considered an adult student at Penn State: 

  • 24 years of age or older
  • Assuming multiple adult roles such as parent, spouse/partner, employee, and student
  • Veteran of the armed services
  • Active duty service member 
  • Returning to school after four or more years of employment, homemaking, or other activity
 

FREE College 101 Workshop for Adults

Starting college as an adult can be daunting. At Penn State Schuylkill we want our adult students to feel comfortable with their decision to return to the classroom.

College 101 is FREE 4 week hybrid workshop that combines the personal touch of a traditional classroom setting and the flexibility of online learning. In this non-credit workshop, you will get an overall sense of what it is like to be a college student as you become acclimated to the resources and processes of the campus and University.

24+ Scholarship

Requirements

  • Eligible students must be at least 24 years of age.
  • Available to students who are starting their first undergraduate college experience at Penn State Schuylkill.
  • A Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) must be on file.
  • Students enrolled in the Go 60 program and Penn State employees, their spouses, and children are not eligible.
  • Must maintain at least a 2.0 GPA in order for 24+Scholarship to be renewed subsequent semesters

Eligible students may receive up to $2000 during their college experience. Award amount per semester is based on the number of credits enrolled:  

3 credits= $125        6 credits= $250       9 credits= $375       12+ credits= $500

We offer flexible visit times including extended hours on Wednesday evenings until 7:00 p.m. and a Saturday visit once a month during the academic year.
