6/3/2013 —

Penn State Schuylkill proudly celebrated Women’s History Month with blues singer, Teeny Tucker, on March 21, 2013. During the afternoon portion of the program, Teeny educated and shared video clips with students from Bessie Smith to KoKo Taylor, Big Mama Thornton to Etta James. She illuminated documented history on how women were very influential in the early forms of blues music.

In the evening, Teeny captivated and mesmerized an audience of all ages as she sang hits from her latest release such as “Ain’t that the Blues,” “Keep the Blues Alive,” and “Respect me and the Blues.”  Her voice and music was soulful and engaging to the entire audience.
