All Penn State students are required to have student identification on their person at all times while on campus.
A student expecting a guest (no more than two) must register the guest(s) twenty-four hours in advance of their expected arrival. Registration can be done through a Housing or Residence Life staff member. All guests will be asked to show a picture ID.
Once the guest is approved, the student will receive a Guest Pass for their guest(s). This pass should remain in the possession of the guest(s) at all times while on campus.
If a student's guest(s) arrive on campus without prior registration approval, they must be registered with a member of the Residence Life Staff immediately.
Student hosts are responsible for their guests at all times and shall be held accountable for their actions. They must keep their guest(s) in their presence at all times and not abandon them, allow them to remain alone or permit them to travel around the campus unaccompanied.
Guests who are found without an approved Guest Pass will be asked to leave the premises. Repeated violations of the Guest Registration Policy will lead to judicial sanctions and possibly the loss of campus privileges.
Definition of a Guest - All persons who do not reside in the Nittany Apartments are considered guests. This includes but is not limited to commuter and off campus Penn State students. Students who were previously restricted from the Nittany Apartments are still restricted and may not register.
