Penn State Schuylkill Radiological Students have many options for building onto their education following completion of the A.S. Below are suggested pathways for a one-year MRI certification program, as well as bachelor's degree options in health services and applied health.
MRI Post-Primary Certification
The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Post-Primary Certification course helps participants achieve their goal of successfully passing the MRI registry, providing a strong foundation to excel in the field. This course is offered to participants who have earned an associate degree in radiological sciences or have a post-primary certification, and it fulfills the requirements set forth by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Students will attend the program over the fall and spring semesters, completing coursework online with a facilitator, as well as 16 hours of on-site clinical training in a health care facility each week. Following the successful completion of the course, participants will be eligible to sit for the ARRT Certification.
Business, Health Services Option (B.S)
Penn State Schuylkill's Bachelor of Science in Business Health Services Option offers students a solid foundation in the business of healthcare. Graduates have forged careers in areas including hospital management, health care administration, records management, and more. This option allows you to earn a business degree and graduate ready to begin a career path to roles including:
- hospital administrator
- medical and health services manager
- medical records manager
- nursing home manager
- practice manager
Applied Health Studies (B.S.)
An articulation agreement developed between The Pennsylvania State University and Pennsylvania College of Technology provides graduates of the Penn State Schuylkill associate degree program in Radiologic Science an opportunity to complete a bachelor of science degree in Applied Health Studies at the Pennsylvania College of Technology.
Credits earned in the associate degree program in Radiologic Science at Penn State Schuylkill can be applied toward the fulfillment of credit requirements in the bachelor of science in Applied Health Studies degree at Pennsylvania College of Technology through this articulation agreement.
Additionally, students may complete other Penn State courses from an approved course list to apply toward the Applied Health Studies degree. View the approved course list >
